Thermal efficiency Wood fires All our wood-burning models, open and closed, have undergone extensive testing in European testing laboratories. Certain models have a thermal efficiency greater or equal to 70% and a CO output inferior to 0.3%. To find out a model’s nominal heat output, efficiency and CO output, see the performance data sheet. The data will be updated as our fireplaces continue to develop. Gas fires Our open and closed gas fireplaces (CE certified) display their nominal heat input. In parallel with improvements in efficiency, researchers are now working on improving the quality of smoke waste to reduce dust and carbon monoxide emissions. Conscious of the necessity of dealing with our planet’s urgent energy and environmental challenges, Focus has diversified and adapted its range of products to take advantage of new renewable energy sources, such as bioethanol.
